We can’t say enough about Canadian Shield Cane Corso - we started our search over a year ago, and I can’t tell you how grateful we are that it led us to Mariah.

We initially spoke with a few different breeders and the conversations usually just involved prices and waiting times. When we touched base with Mariah, she asked what we were looking for in our future companion, and went on to have a frank and open discussion with us about the strengths / weaknesses / responsibilities we would be taking on with the breed. We went on to meet her and her four legged crew, and as we left we both agreed we didn’t want to go anywhere else - the level of care, love and time that has been invested into this program is unmatched in our opinion, and that has only been reinforced over the last year as we’ve waited for our boy.

Mariah has been an endless source of patience (we ask a lot of questions 😅) and information. Genetics, health concerns, common problems, breed standards, conformation, nutrition - you name it, she’s researched it, and she’s incorporated it into bettering the breed. There is so much effort that goes into producing each and every puppy that comes from this program, let alone how much thought goes in to matching each personality with their perfect family.

Our boy Syrus is everything we were looking for and more - he is all of three months old tomorrow and he is gorgeous, loyal, stable and wickedly smart. It makes all the difference in the world to have this level of commitment and support from day one!

Exceptional Cane Corso from a Responsible Breeder!

We had been waiting for our puppy for nearly two years, and she was absolutely worth the wait. Our girl, Bertha, is everything we could have hoped for and more. From the very first days, she has been going outside for potty breaks, which speaks volumes about the breeder's dedication to early training and care.

Her temperament is outstanding-strong yet balanced, confident yet affectionate. She fits perfectly into our family, and we know this is a direct result of the breeder's careful selection and socialization. Her health is impeccable, and she is beautifully built, just as a Cane Corso should be.

On top of that, the breeder has been incredibly supportive, always available to answer any questions and provide guidance whenever needed. This ongoing assistance has been invaluable, and we truly appreciate the dedication and expertise.

My wife and I couldn’t be happier with our experience with Mariah and Canadian Shield. From the application process, to meeting/interviewing, and everything in between, it was clear this was an incredible, ethical, and genuine breeder/program. It is evident in the temperament, disposition, and physical attributes of the pups that Canadian Shield is top of the line. Our cane corso Binks is a confident, sweet, and determined little guy! As soon as we brought him home, he was immediately going outside for bathroom breaks, so easily crate trained, and already learning all of his basic commands so quickly! He’s so intelligent and eager to learn and please. We are so blown away with what an amazing pup he is! Mariah has also been there every step of the way, so easy to communicate with and so knowledgeable with this breed and their care. We are so grateful she has given us this experience and opportunity to have such an incredible dog and companion. Canadian shields is truly the best of the best!

So I can't say enough about Mariah and her program. So I came across Canadian Shield over a year ago and had the pleasure of doing a mandatory meet and greet with Mariah and got to meet her Corso crew 😊. I could tell how much love and Passion went into her program from our meeting. So I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity of getting a future puppy. So I ended up with a baby boy from Prince and Jolene after a long wait which was totally worth it. I will be honest in saying Mariah picked my baby boy specific for my family and at first I was little nervous about it but she couldn't pick a more amazing little boy for us as she nailed it! He is a smart, confident and a loving little boy. Anybody who ends up with a fur baby from Canadian Shield can only consider themselves Lucky as your getting no less then the best!Me and my family thank you for giving us our Royal as he truly is Royalty.

What do we recommend …..everything!!!!

From the initial introductions with Mariah, her facility and her knowledge for the Corso breed was spot on for the calibre of breeder and dog we were looking for. We are very familiar with hard, working line dogs and wanted to ensure we had good bloodlines from champions, as we feel this is vitally important!

We chose to make the trip from the East Coast of Canada, once we seen the quality of her kennel and her pack....we knew we found OUR breeder. Fast-forward about a year and a half later and we have our first female from Mariah.... Male to Come next year hopefully

Mariah has provided an amazing experience so far... I couldn't ask for a better quality of dog and breeder.

We never expected to get treated this well, create such a friendship or have this quality of Corso.

In our humble opinion there is only 1 Cane Corso breeder in Canada … and that's Canadian Shield Cane Corso.

I highly recommend Canadian Shield Cane Corso if you’re looking for a top quality breeder.

I come from a family that bred giant schnauzers. It’s so important that a breeder has an extensive application process and breeding contract to keep the integrity of the breed and provide the buyer with the perfect match for their loyal companion. Mariah does this and so much more.

She was available to answer all my questions, provide feed back and educated information on how to care for my new pup. Even with the 3 hour time difference.

When I picked up my puppy he was everything I expected and more. His first time on a leash and he marched along like a champ. Buses, traffic, city chaos and he didn’t even flinch.

Our first day was a bit chaotic for me with pet carriers and airlines and the task of managing a new puppy in a busy airport but the only signs of stress showed on me.

Ruger was a champ. He didn’t even skip a beat but seemed almost curious as to what was next. Then his first night in a hotel he showed his stoic, brave, “I got this” temperament.

He’s now home with his pack and confident.

I know from experience that a puppy only shows this temperament through hard work, dedication, time, consistency and conditioning.

Introducing the second last member of our family. Meet, Luciano.

Danny and I have always wanted a dog and it's been my dream to own a cane corso. We started doing research and found Mariah Michelle owner of Canadian Shield Cane Corso.

With a wait list for puppies and no guarantee of being accepted, back in January we put in an application hoping for best. We were over the moon to hear back so quickly and jumped on giving a deposit to reserve our spot in line.

When we found out our IUI had been successful, we really contemplated holding off on getting a puppy this year. A toddler, newborn, and puppy? Craziness. Then my truck was broken into and with violence, theft, and breaks ins on the rise, we said we'd feel safer with a large dog in the house.

Mariah meticulously observed this litter looking for the perfect pick. A dog that would be great with our kids and a part of the family while simultaneously being a solid dog for me to take to protection training when hes physically mature.

Falyn and Luciano are already best friends and with Bambino arriving in a short couple months, our family feels complete 🖤🖤🖤

Mariah at Canadian Shield was nothing but outstanding! The entire process was seamless; though extensive which is great. She takes the time needed to vet out and ensure the puppies are going to only the best homes.

We have our girl Storm from the Jolene X Baloo litter.

She has a great temperament and drive. She's already getting use to her environment and her new kitty sister and has been doing a great job. She is learning and always looking up at you for approval.

It's been a great experience from the beginning.

When we lost our 1 year old puppy, we were not sure what we would do.
