Additionally, we DNA test with VetGenn It is a 5 Series Cane Corso Disease Testing all popular in the breed; which entails:
NCL1- Rare Lysosomal storage disease affecting the central nervous system
Cystinuria- Very common in the Cane Corso- it is a heredity error in the metabolism and characterized by abnormal intestinal and reno amino acid transport causing kidney, bladder and utterer problems
CMR1- Inherited eye disease caused by mutation in Bestrophin 1 gene that results in retinal detachment
DSRA- Dental, Skeletal, Retinal Atrophy- Hereditary, brittle, discoloured, translucent teeth, disproportionate growth & progressive retinal degeneration results in vision loss.
DM- Progressive neurodegenerative disease effecting the limbs, muscle loss, tremors and wobblers.

-Show/Breed contract doesn't get issued easy & would only be considered for those with breed experience, proven OFA health tested dogs and come recommended by other reputable breeders.
All puppies get the appropriate veterinary care, vaccinations, and deworming. Canadian Shields Puppies are raised in our home where they will get interaction with us and other animals (ie, Dogs, Horses and Cats) to improve social skills and form more confidence with stability.
At Canadian Shield Cane Corso, our potential puppy buyers will be put through a strict screening. If successful, they will be placed on a wait list and matched accordingly with a puppy temperament/ drive level that will best fit into lifestyle.
We offer a 24 month health guarantee as well as lifetime breeder support.
As part of breed preservation, all ears are cropped and tails docked.
We believe in quality not quantity, so we ONLY have a couple litters a year
