About Us

I was first introduced to the Cane Corso breed in 2015, and from that moment on, I have never looked back. As a dedicated breed enthusiast, I am passionate about producing exceptional family companions that embody sound temperament, quality structure, and true breed type.

I was raised in a highly professional household that bred top-quality German Shepherd dogs, where my lifelong passion for animals began. Growing up surrounded by dogs and horses, I became actively involved in obedience training at a very young age. At just 11 years old, I became one of the youngest competitors in the GTA to win obedience trials with my beloved Shetland Sheepdog.

In addition, my grandfather was a highly respected veterinarian in the GTA who worked with large, small, and exotic animals. Through this upbringing, I gained extensive hands-on experience and knowledge in animal care, structure, temperament, and health. Today, our dogs remain an active part of our family life. They accompany us during daily farm activities, travel with us to horse shows, enjoy trail rides, and spend their evenings relaxing alongside us at home.

I am grateful for the opportunity to share this incredible breed with others who appreciate and respect it as much as I do. Preserving the integrity of the breed is extremely important to us, and we remain committed to maintaining the traditional roots and functionality of the Cane Corso while avoiding exaggerated hypertype characteristics.

I am an active member of the Canadian Kennel Club, Canine Federation of Canada, Cane Corso Federation of Canada, American Kennel Club, and International Cane Corso Federation. All of our dogs are fully registered and health tested through VetGen, GenSol Diagnostics, Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, and PennHIP prior to entering our breeding program.

Our dogs live active, purposeful lifestyles and accompany us as we compete and travel with our horses. We are actively involved in obedience, Schutzhund, and conformation showing, emphasizing versatility, stability, athleticism, and sound temperament.

All puppies are whelped and raised within our home, where they are exposed to a variety of environments, people, animals, and experiences. From an early age, they interact with dogs, horses, and cats while also becoming accustomed to everyday sights and sounds such as ATVs, snowmobiles, bicycles, golf carts, and other loud environmental noises.

At Canadian Shield Cane Corso, prospective puppy owners go through a thorough and careful screening process. Approved families are thoughtfully matched with a puppy best suited to their lifestyle and experience level. We proudly offer an 18-month health guarantee along with lifetime breeder support. Ear cropping and aftercare are also handled professionally between 6–7 weeks of age. As preservation breeders, we believe ear cropping remains an important part of maintaining the traditional appearance and historical function of the breed.

As reputable, experienced breeders and passionate breed enthusiasts, our vision is to continue producing exceptional dogs that are stable, sound, healthy, confident, and well-tempered — dogs that leave a lasting impression wherever they go.

2026 Cane Corso National Speciality of Canada Winner

We are coming home with a HAUL!!

What is a National Breed Speciality you may ask?
A Cane Corso Specialty is one of the most prestigious shows you can win in the breed. Instead of all breeds competing together, the event is dedicated to Cane Corsos only, and the judge is typically someone with significant experience evaluating the breed.

Why it’s so important:

  • You’re competing only against other Cane Corsos, often some of the best dogs in the country or even internationally.
  • Specialty judges tend to know the breed standard in great detail, so wins carry a lot of respect within the Cane Corso community.
  • The competition is usually much stronger than at an all-breed show.

Well in 2026 we drove to Alberta, Canada to attend the Cane Corso Speicalify and Royce WON it. I am still in shock! Two of his progeny placed as well.

Gia taking Best of Winners for Female and Best Canadian Bred

Vasco cleaning up and making sure he continues his daddy’s legacy by placing Best of Winners and Best Canadian Bred Puppy, and Best Puppy!!

I am so proud and still in shock, someone pinch me♥️
