About Us
We are proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s leading Cane Corso breeders, with a reputation known throughout North America. Located just outside the GTA in Ontario, we are dedicated hobby breeders committed to producing elite-quality Cane Corso that are healthy, athletic, stable-tempered, and true to breed standard. At Canadian Shield, our program is built on strong European and American bloodlines, carefully selected to preserve the exceptional structure, temperament, and working ability of the breed.
I was first introduced to this Breed in the year of 2015 and have not looked back since. I am a breed enthusiast and love producing top quality family members.
I was raised in a very professional household that bred top of the line German Shepherds. I grew up with dogs and horses as my passion and started doing obedience at a very young age to which I was the youngest ever in the GTA to win obedience trials at the age of 11 with my pet Shetland Sheepdog at that time. Additionally, my grandfather was a well-known Veterinarian in the GTA serving large, small, and exotic animals; so, have vast amount of animal experience and knowledge. My dogs are an active part of my family and are always by our side assisting with farm or daily activities, traveling to horse shows then cuddling up with us in the evenings.
I am excited to have the opportunity to share this great breed with others who love them as much as I do and keep the breed preservation alive by sticking to its roots and staying away from the Hypertype Cane Corso.
I am a member of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), Canine Federation of Canada (CFC), Cane Corso Federation of Canada (CCFC), American Kennel Club (AKC) And International Cane Corso Federation (ICCF). Our dogs are registered, and health tested using VetGen, Gennsol, OFA and Pennhip before joining our breeding program. I am active with our dogs; they come with us when we compete/ travel with our horses, run with us trail riding and when it comes to performing events, we are active in Obedience, Schutzhund and Confirmation showing.
All our puppies are whelped and raised in our home where they get to experience interaction with us, and other animals (ie: Dogs, Horses and Cats). As well as, Atv's, snowmobiles, bikes, golf carts and loud noises.
At Canadian Shield Cane Corso, our potential puppy buyers will go through a strict series of serious stages of screening and if they succeed, they will be placed with a puppy that will match the responsible owners accordingly. We offer a 18 month health guarantee as well as lifetime breeder support. We handle the ear cropping and after care which is done at between 6-7 weeks. Breed preservation is important to us and we believe ear cropping is important for the breed.
As a reputable, experienced breeder and breed enthusiast, it is our goal and vision to continue to produce top dogs that are stable, sound, well-tempered, confident, and healthy dogs that leave a mark where they go.
